Athlete Agreement
To get the most out of our time together, communication is key! I pride myself on giving all my athletes equal attention. So, that means, at some points in the year, or when working together, you may receive prompt or delayed responses from me depending where you are in your lead up, and what other athlete events are on. For example in the lead up to an IM event or Channel swim season, if you are not competing, there may be delayed communication as I can have anywhere from 10-15 athletes racing in the one week!
Below is some formalities so you know exactly what to expect from me, and what I expect from you.

Athlete-Dietitian relationship

Everything I put in nutrition training plans, draft/practice event plans and event day plans have a purpose. Amounts and specific products mean just that. Not all sports drinks, gels or foods are equal. There will be times you will trial different nutrition products and strategies because I've suggested; or because you trial yourself. I encourage this, but I ask that you let me know when you try different things and how it goes. Otherwise if I don't know, you won't get the best out of your plan come event day.

Unlimited messaging is open Monday to Friday within 12-24 hour turn around. Weekends, 23-36 hours. If there are times I will be uncontactable, you will be notified 48 hours beforehand.

I will check in each week with you, but if you have questions or updates or want to have a call, don't wait for me. It's your responsibility to check in at key times in your preparation and organise a time that suits you well.

Individualised Nutrition Plans

You may be requested to get specific nutrition. Some you may need to order in and it may take some time. Please order asap, as many times I have had athletes use an alternative, because they couldn’t find the original. It makes it difficult, as if you change one product, you may need to change others and it means I have to rewrite plans and be concerned if I think you’re racing on a 2nd best plan.

For the best results, you should purchase some kitchen scales (you can get some cheap ones from Target or Kmart) or a weighted spoon. The amounts for event nutrition plans can be important, and you need to measure out your nutrition to ensure you are getting the right amount. You may also need normal bathroom scales to do home fluid testing.

Respect that what works for you may not work for others. Please do not provide my plans or information to others. While some plans may “look similar”, they are all tailored to each individual athlete.
