Des Gooda Coaching / Tweed Coast Multisport brings you the ultimate triathlon performance camp to kick off 2023, and prepare for some key events.

​

If you're racing Tasmania 70.3 in February, this is the ideal camp for you to get in some big miles at higher elevation...just 4 weeks out.

​

Perhaps you've got Geelong, IRONMAN New Zealand or even Port Mac or Cairns later in 2023? Then this is the camp for you to get some quality work in. 

​

The camp will be capped and sold on a first come (paid) first served basis; and additional athletes will only be considered on the withdrawal of another. 

​

Come have some fun, work hard and enjoy training in a beautiful part of Australia!

DETAILS:

​

Dates: January 1-5, 2023

​

Location: Jindabyne Lake, NSW

​

Cost: $895

($500 upfront deposit, balance due by November 30, 2022)

​

Cost Includes: 

5 nights accommodation

4 full days of structured training and guidance
2 x Qualified TA Coaches (including Performance Coach and 18/19 TQ Coach of the year)

Access to Qualified Sports Dietitian for the duration of the camp

4 team dinners

Nutrition product samples and snacks

Those who wish to share accommodation, price will significantly reduce. More info below.

Does not include: breakfast, lunch, snacks ... please BYO from local supermarket

 

This is a performance focused 4-day active camp aimed at strength and endurance and will not be a picnic by the lake :)

​

Attendance Criteria:

Fully paid Triathlon Australia member

Ability to ride approximately 300kms of high elevation across 3 days

Full attendance across the camp dates.

Able and willing to be a part of a fun group environment.

Be self sufficient for nutrition - BYO nutrition/foods to fuel and hydrate with

Bring a stocked toolkit

Travel

All attendees are to make their own travel arrangements with view to arriving for a Sunday January 1 check in and a Friday January 6 check out. The closest airport is Canberra.

BRIEF SCHEDULE



Arrival Day | Sunday

Arrive & sort out bike + gear. Get an early night sleep!

​

Day 1 | Monday

Ride 1, Jindabyne to Dead Horse Gap and return as a group (approx 80k).

​

Day 2 | Tuesday 

Ride 2 as per ride 1 at individual tempo pace.

​

Day 3 | Wednesday

Ride 3 (the big one) Jindabyne - Thredbo - Jindabyne - Charlottes Pass - Jindabyne (approx 150k).

​

Day 4 | Thursday

Long run from Charlottes Pass to the summit of Mt Kosciusko and return (approx 20k)

​

There will be shorter strategic runs complimenting the smaller rides and possibly recovery based lake swims. The camp emphasis will be on bike strength and endurance.

 

Group dinners and discussions with Coach and Sports Dietitian Christie. Final night group dinner at an external venue. Dinners (except final night) supplied. All other required foods / drinks are at attendees expense.

Accommodation

Snow Country Ski Club Jindabyne.

Older style group accommodation. All units have a double bed and two bunks (4 persons max). Own bathroom and kitchenette. The complex has a communal kitchen and dinning area as well as common gathering areas. Chosen for its low cost and the perfect opportunity to keep all attendees together. 

 

At first quote, maximum price of each unit per night is $100. This may vary dependant on final numbers.

 

This accommodation is only a few minutes walk to Woolies, Banjo Patterson inn, Bowlo and all convenience shops.
